Quotations from my Sketchbooks:
..A properly executed piece should affect the viewer with a positive internal reaction that they may not be completely able to explain...

.. to design something that resonates with some element of truth...

.. the true artist is one with both the ability to tap into the depths of their soul and the courage to bring forth that expression, the medium chosen is merely the instrument for this act...

.. I hope the art object that is created will be something that allows for connection ...

..watching the zen monk rake the garden. it becomes apparent that the purpose of the labor is not just to create an object for material consumption. nor is the striving just to create placement and patterning for some compositional correctness.  he strives to create a space that will act as a medium and tie the participant into something greater. beyond intent, are there any rules for creating such a thing? no. do i believe creating such a thing is possible? yes.

.. don't strive to seek out a niche, creating with pure intent creates its own niche...

.. abide by a different set of rules without apology...

..I believe the starting of an art piece should also be an act of inventiveness and exploration..

.. do I think the right piece of art can both nurture the depths of ones soul and sharpen the mind. yes...

.. the creative burst: poised between earth and sky, you move dancing suspended.. hands moving as reality unfolds.. holding on while you fly around the curb. laughter, horror and amazement flash by as you fight to keep staring straight ahead..

Quotations from Others:

“Chris Tousimis’ work captures the potential of the materials he uses and is sensitive to the environment it inhabits.  His knowledge of iconic forms is synthesized into the work he shapes.  His art, both elegant and refined, reflects his extraordinary ability to see in many ways. Chris Tousimis is a gifted and creative artist. “

Mr. Joseph Krakora,  Executive Officer, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC

"..The works of Chris Tousimis always offer new visions. Solid pieces of material. The Chris Tousimis sculptures are peaceful symbols, helpful objects for our stressed time."

Firouz Galdo, Architect, designer of Gagosian Gallery, Rome Italy

"I had a vital place at my home, which required a special and eye-catching sculpture. I retained sculptor, Chris Tousimis to create something dramatic but not overdone, and he created the work Epiphany, which is perfect for the space and has been greatly admired by all who have seen it."
